Fruit Ninja 2

Fruit Ninja 2

I joined the Fruit Ninja team in 2015 and shortly after we were tasked with creating a multiplayer-focused sequel. I was design lead on the project, from initial prototyping through to worldwide launch.

Gameplay Mechanics

New game modes and mechanics were designed to accommodate the game’s multiplayer focus.

I developing new mechanics such as the powerups system and the new scoring system, which gave the game a higher skill ceiling while also being fun for new players.

Progression Systems

XP, Trophy, and Battle Pass systems were built to keep players engaged. As well as a game economy built around collecting items and currency to forge into upgrades.

Rebuilding, and keeping the magic!

Fruit Ninja 2 used a new game engine, so faithfully porting the original games modes across required careful analysis and attention to detail.

The Arcade, Classic, and Zen games modes from the original Fruit Ninja were rebuilt with me leading the design process.

Live Ops Events

After launch, I continued to lead design on new event modes. The one I am most proud of is Fruitar Hero, a rhythm mode.
